I have a 72 B and have a question about the PSI ratings on radiator caps. I have a non vented cap on my radiator now and want to put a vented one on. (a safety lever cap) Moss motors does not sell one...

John, According to the '74 owner's manual, it states (p.28), "The system is pressurized to 10 lbs./sq. inch when hot...". So I would think you are good to go. Ray

Your original 7 psi cap was for a MKI car, 1972 was 10 psi. Still even with the later 13 or 15psi caps any cooling system in normal condition will work fine. Take note that even 15psi is just about 1...

As they say, "it depends." If your car still has the radiator overflow to the ground, you should be okay. If you have an overflow tank, they you really want a vented cap to allow the water to flow...
